UNEQUAL VALUATIONS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Timaru, August 2. At the Mack-nzicConntryCouneil to-day stroug complaint was made regarding tho unequal valuations of Teknpo Puling (Mackenzie Country pastoral thus); It was stilted that of small Tiros of equal carrying capacity some were assessed at twice the capital'value as others, the only reason suggested being that- the valuation was bakd on rentals, not values. The higher assessments were runs let by auction, and thy lower those let by ballot at the Land Board reals. The chairman will Ik visiting 'Wellington shortly and will see tire- htads of the Department about tho matter.
