SO SAYS MR, SEMPLE. (By TeleEraph.—Sdublol CorresDondent.l Christchurch, August 1. In regard to a statement published that Mr. M. Laracy, in nn interview in Wellington, had said that the New Zealand Federation could carry on tho industrial fights nt Waihi and keefton for two months nt least, Mr. Semple slated that tho ;.nnoi:nccnient was quite unofficial. The Federation was prepared to accept an Honourable settlement, but, rather than accept tlife conditions offered, or anything like tliem) It was prepared to fight not only for i.wo months, but for twelve 'months if neccssary. lie was representing the opinion of every mail, woman, and child involved in the dispute, and of the members of Iho Federation generally when ho said that they would never surrender unconditionally. Motions had been carried in every union affiliated to the Federation upholding tho position. As far as the men were concerned, tho fight had only begun, ]
