MASTERTON NOTES.

— 5 (From Our Special Correspondent.) Masterton, April 23. A suggestion was made at th'o meeting of householders in Masterton last evening that an Old Boys' Association bo formed in connection vritli the Masterton District High .School. The suggestion was received with npplause, and it is probnblo tlint early action will bo taken in tho matter. Tho Masterton branch of tho Labour party is taking an active interest in municipal and local body matters. It succeeded last evening in returning a majority of its nominees to the School Committee, and is reported to bo interesting itself in tho Mayoral election. At tho mooting of tho Druids' Lodge in Masterton last evening Bro. Davcy, D.R., occupied tho chair. Four candidates were initiated, and one proposed for membership. Mr. R. Dean, who has been in business in Masterton for somo time, is removing to Napier. Last evening members of the Masterton Brass Band presented Bandsman Briden, who Ims lately been married, with a silver teapot, suitably inscribed, as a token of esteem.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., in conjunction with Mr. W. H. Cruickshank, have sold Bank View Estate, the property of Mr. T. York, at Te Wharan, to Mr. R. N. Barton, lato of Clifton Grove, Lower Valley. -Tha property comprises 3800 acres.

Mr. and Mrs. Moss celebrated their golden wedding to-day, a largo number of friends being preseot.
