VANCOUVER BUTTER TRADE.
CONTRACTS SHORT SHIPPED,
It is reported that the Union Co.'s steamer Aorangi short shipped some 1500 boxes of butter (which were consigned to Vancouver) on account of over-booking. The booking, it is said, was done at the head office in Duiiedin, and as the butter was going to Vancouver in execution of February contracts, tho position of the five or six merchants concerned can be appreciated. If the buyers refuse to take delivery of tho butter in March, it is stated that tho Union Co. may have to meet claims from the merchants.
