OBITUARY.
PRINCIPAL FAIRBAIRN. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. February 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 10. The death of the Rev. Dr. Andrew Martin Fairbairn, Principal Emeritus, of Mansfield College, Oxford, is announced. [Tho late Principal Fairbairn, who was in his 85th year, wns the son of a Scottish miller. As a youth he worked strenuously to obtain academic distinction. Ho studied at Edinburgh nnd Berlin Universities, nnd entered the Congregational ministry in Scotland iu his 22nd year. Tic became Principal of Airedale College, Bradford, iu 1577, and of Mansfield College, Oxford, in 18SG—both training colleges for the Congregational ministry. He lectured on theology in America and India, and wrote many books which gavo him ii foremost place among contemporary theologians. Ho resigned iii» position n't Mansfield College in 1903.'] A NOTABLE PROSPECTOR, (Rec. February 12, 0.20 a.m.) Ottawa, February 11. The death is announced from poverty of Fred Laroso, a half-breed prospector, the discoverer of the famous Cobalt mines. " ■■■
