Proceedings were enlivened By selections on Mr. Nicholson's gramaphone, and items bv Misses Talbot, Shearer, Mra. Lowe, and Mr. Lowthwaite.' Mr. Carey acted as supervisor. HUTT FIRE BRIGADE. The Hutt Fire Brigade held their annual meeting last evening. Captain biinn was in the chair. . The resignation of Fireman Greig was accepted with regret. Tho secretary Of the Competitions Committee write, stating that the presentation of trophies won on Labour Day would take place at Petone on Friday, Kovember 9. Mr. Baldwin announced that tue Competition Committee had rcoommended that an executive be formed, with a view to forming a Hutt Valley Fire Brigades' As. Bociation, which would draw up rules and conditions for tho annual competitions. The " announcement met with applause. The secretary donated a trophy, to bo competed for by messongcrs on Baldwin Cnp day. • , , . : , The'action of the secretary in insuring all members' against accident on Labour Day was approved. The question of making some fitting recognition of the work of the ladies who assisted at the recent bazaar was left in the hands of a sub-committee.
