Tho opening ceremony in connection with the new Anglican Church at Karori was held last evening, and so largo was tho congregation that numbers were unable to, find seating accommodation. Tho S»rvico took tho form of a choral evensong and .sermon, the Ve.n. Archdcaoon Fancourt being tho preacher, lie took tho words "One Body" as his text, and delivered a forcible and interesting address on the unity of the Church. Ho compared tho Church to n family; although tho members might divide somewhat amongst themselves, yet nothing could alter the fact that they belonged to the samo family. Rcfcronoc was also inado to tho work of tho old settlers in building the church which had just been vacated. No doubt some of them felt regret at leaving tho old familiar building, vet really there was no difference, as each was blessed with the Divine presence. In conclusion 110 congratulated the congregation on having erected such a handsome building. It wns eroctod for the honour and glory of God, and they had given tho best they possibly could. The Veil. Archdeacon Harper then performed the act of consecration, which wns followed by tho blessing, after 'wliic.li the Te Deurn was sung, as an act of thanksgiving. file Rev. \Y. It. Compton intoned tho service, and Mr. S. Sliortt was organist. Tho following clergymen also assisted: Revs. J. Jones, F. T. Sheriff, D. H. Jenkins, J. E. Jones, W. Fancourt, C. J. Muther, A. W. IT. Compton, ,T. G. S. Bartlett, J. L. Kayll. W. Ballachey, J. H. Sylces, and tho Vicar, Rev. A.L nansell.
