I.a Trobc) sivid that ou tho whole the resolution of the Board of Control was a wise one. Boys of the school were quite able to do wiring at the end of two years' studentship. Tho present regulations required that electoral wiremen must lx> 19 years of age, and lravo served three years. Tho City Council by-laws required that applicants for licenses should hold a Technical School certificate, and have served three years at the trade. Under the Huggested scheme a boy entering tlio trade would be ablo to get his certificate in a couple of years. Ono point that occurred to him was that in order to qualify for the minimum wago under tlio award a worker must liavo served four years. It was conceivable that (ho licensing of boys um>r tho proposed schomo would enable employers to get work under (ho minimum wnge. lie presumed that (hat aspect »f the matter had received duo consideration for the resolution had been supported by both the workers and employers' representatives in tho Hoard of Control. Tho resolution was approved.
