WELLINGTON ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY.

I A meeting was held at the Newtown Library on Wednesday evening, the ltav. J. Oewes (president) in tlie chair, to ' alter the rules of the Wellington Zoologi--5 cal Society, to enable a larger number of " vice-presidents to bo elected and increase 1 membership of council. It was resolved - that tho number of vice-presidents should ! not exceed six, and that the members on the council (exclusive of ex-officio meml bers) should not excoed twenty. Messrs. . W. Janson and W. Jack were elected vice- > presidents, and the following wc»-e added 5 to tho council:—The Rev. J. Ward, - Messrs. R. H. Chincheii, J. Newhouse, E. - Read, E. Collier, and 11. G. Greuside. The ) report on the concert held recently at tho - Town Hall showed a small addition to tho society's funds, but it was felt that_con--5 sidcrable good, both from an educational and zoological point of view, would re- : suit if similar high-class entertainments i. took place annually. A meeting of tho council followed to discuss the further policy of the society, and it was considered desirable that an incubator should bo obtaine.l largn enough for emu, ostrich, and rhea eggs.
