WATCHMAN. GOLD-MINING CO. The manager of the Watchman Gold Mining Company reports as under for tho week euded September 9:— Dunedin Reef: This face has been advanced a. further distance of 7 feet, with three shifts, up to Wednesday, September 8. At that pcint a start wac made to drive towards tho Sunbeam in a straight line for the purpose of affecting a connection as early as possible. Twelve feet have been driven in this direction, making a total of 19 feet for the week. Both these faces are in quartz, in which zinc blend and sulphides can be seen freely. The crosscut does not appear to be . through the- Dunedin reef, as the pug is still showing in the hanging wall, with tho parallel reef Rtill further ahead. Windfall Reef: Two men have been eu-•*.-u?cd advancing thb face on the foot--7,-nil, and, although the reef is more favourable for progress, no change is to bo ?<* in the auality of the ore, as compared with that of last week. Stmbcn.m Low Level: This face has been advanced 32 feet, with threo shifts, through a most favourable class of country for progress, with bunches of quaTtz intormiied.
