(From Our Special Correspondent,) „, ~ Masterfon, August 2. The ordinary meeting of tho Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held in Mastcrton to-day, Mr. E. G. Eton presiding. Tho treasurer reported a credit balance at date of .£lBlO Bs. 7d. ino seal of tho Board was affixed to tha agreement with Mr. W. C. Buchanan, M.P., in regard to the Homo for Incurables at Greytown. Suggested argoeinents between tho board and the various local bodies for contributions towards tha cost of health inspectors were received from Dr. Freaglcy, and ordered to be sent to the different local bodies affected. It was reported by Inspector Cairns that with tho exception of measles at Mauricctillo tlie North Wairarapa distriot u'as freo from epidemics. The Mastcrton Borough Council met last evening, tho Mayor (Mr. J. M. Coradine) presiding. The manager of tho abattoirs reported that 121 cattle, 4 calves, 661 sheep and lambs, and 90 pigs had been slaughtered during the month. Tho engineer's report was read and adopted. A deputation from the Mastcrton South Band waited upon the council, and asked for an increased contribution towards its funds. The matter was left in the hands of the Mayor to report.
