ANALYSIS OF SOILS.
AN AUCKLAND MOVEMENT. An invitation was extended to members of tho Farmers' Union generally by Major Lusk and Mr, Makgill during the recent conference to take advantage of the laboratory established by the Auckland executive for the analysis of soils and manures. The laboratory will be in charg? of Mr. B. E. Lynch, who was for 31 years in the Dominion Laboratory, 'Wellington, this gentleman having offered to devote three nights and Saturday afternoon of each week lo tho work for twelve months free of charge. .Demonstrations and lectures will also bo given to farmers each week-end. For the first year the cost of each analysis will be 2s. Gd. to members. One of the aims of the institution will be to make the reading of the analysis as simple as possible.
