The action of Dr. Ingram, Bishop of London, in instructing Mr. Tristram, Chancellor- of the-Diocese, that 110.license for a marriage with a divorced person, or of a person with his deceased wife's sister, is to be issued without the Bishop's personal assent in writing, arose in consequenco, of Mrs. Pretty's marriage at tho Chapel Royal, Savoy. Mr. Tristram has replied that lie is bound to observe the law of the Kingdom, oven when it is at variance with tho prelate's' opinion;-
