A SERIOUS FIRE.

CORAKI MAIN STREET DESTROYED.. • By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyricht. Sydney, January 20. At fire at Coraki, on the Richmond River, destroyed a large portion pi,tlio main street. It started in tho centre of a large ; block.of buildings, and spread with tremendous rapidity both ways. There wero-no efficient appliances. The places-iburned include two hotels, the London Bank of Australia premises, and several large business places. There aro few details so far. The damage is estimated at many thousands of pounds.. Priddico's tailoring premises, in tho main .street. - ,It demolished tho wholo block except a corner store. Most of the buildings were new, and tho Commercial Hotel was one of the "best" on "tho North Altogether, twelve buildings were totally (lestroyed. Tho firo had to be fought with buckets of water from tho river. Tho dropping of the wind alone prevented a further disastrous spread. ' The damage "is variously estimated from £20,000 to £40,000.
