FRENCH PREMIER ATTACKED.

A man named Gisoline, formerly a law clerk at Bayonne, fired two shots from the public gallery of the Chamber of Deputies at M. Briand, the Premier. Ho missal his mark, but M. Mirman, Director of Public Relief, was, wounded in the leg. The would-be murderer had been dis- ' charged from the public service. A HOMICIDAL MANIAC. (Rec. January 19, 0.15 a.m.) Paris, January 18. Gisoline had been dismissed from his post owing to signs of insanity. Subsequently be fired without cause at tho British Consul at San Sebastian. He was thereupon confined in an asylum, but was rcoently released.
