Mrs.'. H. 11. Armstrong, of Carterton, who has been absent in Gisborne for sonio months' undergoing medical treatment, returned home la=t ivcek much improved in health; . ' . . Dr. Johnston loft Carterton' ou Saturday on a short,holiday.. Jlrs. Ashtou,- vifo of Mr. A. J. Ashton, died on Sunday ■ afternoon, death being duo to a paralytic stroke, which occurred on tho previous evening. Deceased,, who was o± years of age, was esteemed by all who knew her. The funeral takes place to-day. Jlr. J. M. Lighlfoot, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, has resumed duty after a holiday spent in Wanganui. Jlr. L. Taylor, first assistant at the Dalefielcl Cheese Factory, has received a handsome from tho Haivera A. and P. Association. The niedal was awarded to the factory scoring the highest number of points at the recent show.
