A PROTEST AND AN ELECTION. IBy Teleeraoh.— Fresa Association.) Pahlatua, November 2. An election to fill the vacancy of the Borough Council caused by the resignation of Councillor Westlake, who resigned as a protest against the council adjourning a few weeks' ago to attend the final service in connection with the Anglican Mission, was held to-day. Mr. Westlake wae again nominated. The result was as follows: — J. Osburne-Lilly, 141; Westlake, 116.
