OTAKI ■ The annual general meeting of -Che Kahili Crictet ijiub was held, on Monday night, Air. J. D. liowell presiding. .Some'discussion took place on tho finances of the club, and it was decided to instruct Mr. J. (J. Stevens to ask a settlement in a certain quarter. The Carterton branch of the Waira-,' rapa Egg Circle dispatched 190 dozen: eggs to Wellington "on. Tuesday last and to-day will forward another 120 dozen, making 310 dozen for the week. The Carterton Gun Club will'hold a competition to-day for a .trophy pre-. sonted by the -W.F.C.A.

The annual meeting of the Woodvilto Chamber of Commerce was held on Monday evening. The concluding "social" for the season in connection with 'the' local : Eoniaa Catholic Church was held.in the Druids' Hall on : Friday, when: a' large ; assembly danced into the small:hours'of Saturday morning. Master M'Leayey's singing was-' repeatedly encored. 'Miss Laurvig, Mrs. May (encore), Miss Asquith, Mr. Hoo-. leer, and others contributed songs. Slrs.Dalton, of Wellington, presided at the piano, and Mr. Kearslyy of Levin, accompanied her on the violin. An Irish;" ji-j, contributed by Mrs. Moynihau, and; Mr. J. Curran, "brought down th» house." Mrs. Dalton acted as organist at the church on Sunday.

The Hautere Club won the trophy last year. The local Gun Club is doing well. At the firing last week, Mr. H. Wcrgery secured first honours, whilo Mr. Vμ Wegftci'y was runner-up.
