ECONOMY AT THE ZOO.
'-.■ The report of tho Reserves Committee to tho City Council last evening contained a recommendation that the council allow the mattor of obtaining an expert opinion on the Zoo to stand over until the next financial year. . Councillor Flotchor opined that it would bo wiso to obtain the opinion with the least possible delay. -■ . ■,-■'• Tho Mayor said it. was: estimated- that tho cost of obtaining this opinion wouid be .£35. It had been decided to reduce expenditure on the Zoo from ,£I7OO to JJIOOO. Th« Reserves'-Committee had made laudable efforts to keep within the latter amount, but they had not done it.
