MAIL SERVICES.
REPORT OF POSTAL DEPARTMENT. The annual report of the Post and Telegraph Department contains several references to the ocean mail services. The inward Suez service is characterised as unsatisfactory. The steamer for New Zealand continues to leave Sydney on* Wednesday. Repeated efforts have been made to induce tho Union Company to alter the day of departure to Monday, but action has been delayed as the company has not been able to see its way to make the necessary changes in the running that the proposal would involve. The wreck of the Waikare has intensified the difficulties which were in a fair way of being removed." '
