FIGHT IN ALBANIA.

The.Albanians have obstinately resisted the Turkish troops since Friday evenIt is officially stated that the Katchanik defile, which was occupied by GOO Albanians, has now been cleared. Tlio railway is reported to be unaamaged. Further considerable reinforcements have been dispatched to overawe the Albanians and offeot a definite settlement of tho trouble. REBELS' HEAVY LOSSES, SHEVKETS FLANK ATTACK. (Rec. May 3, 1.35 a.m.) , Constantinople, Hay 2, Shevket Pasha, Commander-in-Chief o{ the Turkish troops in Albania, led the attack in person upon the Albanian position. He attacked with a force of 3000 .mou supported by three batteries, sending 4000 men to execute a flanking movement. By these tactics he surprised and smrounded 4000 Albanians in the neighbourhood of Katchanik Pass. Tho Albanians made a dosperate resistance. They finally cut their way through the Turks, and dispersed in all directions. Tho Albanians loet many men, dead, wounded, or taken prisoner. The Turks lost only 142 killed and wounded, because the principal part of the action fell on their artillery.
