TE ARO SAILING CLUB. ' On Saturday . afternoon the Te Aro Sailing /Club got off a race for a trophy presented by Mr. H. O'Neill. - A ,good fresh northerly prevailed, the little boats , just being able to'carry full sail.- Tlio following were-, the'. handicapsßedwing (scr.), Nan (6min;), Ishmael (Bmin.), Lotus (lOmin.), Rival (12mm.), Dbr'een'"'(l3niin.)', and-Velota (UJmin.). MOTOR-BOAT PICNIC. 011 Saturday, afternoon, the launches of tho Port Nieh6lson Motor-Boat Club proceeded ■to • Scorching Bay, whero members-and friends held-a very enjoyable picnic. The launches formed a procession froni tho boat harbour, being,headed by Mr. Greanshield'3 launch. Some excitement was caused by ,the, swamping of a dinghy ju«t after tho arrival at the bay. It appears, that a dinghy with a couple of ladies and a man on board 'had just readied tlio shore, but before thoy could disembark a huge breaker oame along and swamped the dinghy, throwing the occupants into tho water. They wero quickly rescued and taken to ono of the whares where thoy wore, provided with, dry clothes.
