A meoting of tho New Zealand Cricket Council to-night considered matters in connection with tho disqualification of Southland cricketers consequent on the disqualification of the Southland .Caledonian Society Sports I'ederntion. ~ #Vl _~,. . The vice-president of tho council (F. Wilding) ruled that, as associations affiliated to tho counoil had not received notice twenty-one days prior to the annual meeting of the proposal to affiliate with the federation, the affiliating agreed upon at tho annual meeting was 'illegal. He also ruled that, nndfer the constitution of council, there was no power of disqualification, and the disqualifications imposed could not bo recognised. - _ Tho meeting unanimously agreed to these rulings, and it was resolved to notify the federation 'that tho 'affiliation to the council was illegal and to request tho removal of the council's name from the list of bodies affiliated H' the federation,
