Bolivian Indians were.'accorded a farewell in St. John's Schoolroom'on Wednesday ■ night/ when several of'the party spoke, and speeches wero' also delivered by Dr, Gibb, Mr. J. G. W. Aitkon, and .Mr.-Kersley. .• There was a good 'attendance.'.y ~; : ■■ ■ '.'• ■•"•■• •■ ■ - .■■'.. . ; Dr..-'Gibb, who presided, spoke a few words in reference.to mission .work generally, and then Mr. Johnston Turnbnll'told something of the reasons that had led to his taking up fhh mission 1 work. For fourteen years he had wished to enter the mission field, - but' it was .only threo .years ago that he had had any opportunity of doim* so. Ho went into training in South Australia, and since -then.he'-had'been engaged in home mission work preparing for the foreign .field. • ' ■'..■'■, " i ', p :.. Mrs. Geo. Allan, Mrs. Johnston Turnbnll, and , Miss ...Crcsswell, spoke briefly of their delight in tho thought of the.work they,were'to do in South America, and Mr. Allen gave a short account,of what that work was, and the great need that existed for it in Bolivia. Mr. Kersley spoke encouragingly of the sploridiu results he hncl himself seen, from mission work in foreign fields, nnd Mr. Aitlcen based his speech of the need of tho, Church to-take niore interest in missionaries and their efforts'
