SELWYN CENTENARY.
The service U> be held in St. Paul's ProCathedral to-night (as advertised in yesterday s issue), in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of George Augustus Selvyyn, the first Anglican bishop of. Now Zealand, will be in. many respects an interesting event. There are, of course, many people still living who remember the- great bißhop. His work in organising the Anglican Church m Now Zealand, and in connection with tho framing, of the Church Constitution, has earned the lasting gratitude of Anglican Churchmen. It was, therefore, felt by the Church authorities both in England_and New Zealand that tho centenary of Solwyn's birth should not bo allowed to pass unnoticed. An illustrated article including a sketch of Bishop Solwyn's career and an appreciation by" the present Primate of New Zealand, appeared in Toe Dominion of April 3. ' ,
