A letter was received, from the Canterbury Union, asking if it was true that Mr. Galbraith intended retiring: from the position of treasurer, and stating that, if he was not go-' ing.to stand, the union would give notice of motion to alter the rule as to officers,- to provide for the office of secretary, and treasurer being held conjointly.
