RETIREMENT OF TEACHERS.
, AGE LIMIT OF 65 YEARS. fBT TELEQUAPH—MESS ASSOCIATION.! Auckland, April 22. Superannuation is to be applied by the Auckland Education Board. On tho motion of the chairman (Mr. C. J. Parr), it, was resolved at to-day'a meeting that all tho board's servants over tho.agdof ,G5 years should bo retired. This decision is to take effect from January 1, 1910. The chairman's idea was that when a man was well on in tho sixties he could not devote tho energy to his work that younger teachers could, and which was essential, and that when tho State provided • superannuation it should; be taken advantago of., There wore, ho added, a number of' teachers ill tho employ of tho board who should retire and mako way 1 for younger men who were getting grey waiting for promotion.
