Sir, —All classes of the community will be one with mo in expressing thanks to The Dominion for tho timely appreciation of tho talonts of Mr. Alfred Hill, tho most gifted musician and conductor in New Zealand, and for the kindliness which prompted your paper in suggesting a complimentary benefit to hini who has been laid aside for so long by illness; an illness tho seriousness of which becomes of some national concern. Tho occasion calls for a ready response by all classes of tho community' to show its deep regard and esteem for Mr. Hill, and I am confident that the citizens of Wellington will riso to the occasion anil arrange a complimentary on a scale fitting to such a great musician.—l am, etc., .
