IKAROA MAORI LAND BOARD.

.Tho Ikaroa Maori Land Board concluded a two days' sitting yesterday, Judge Fisher presiding. Tu Hirini, by his solicitors, Messrs. Maunsell and Hart, applied for removal of restrictions and consent to sell section 394, AVhareama, comprising 1150 acres. Mr. M.'Donald, solicitor, objected on behalf of tho Pubiic Trustee, who holds a mortgage over the land. It was decided that until the mortgage was .paid off tho board had no power to deal with the- property. 'An application was made for confirmation of alienation of the PotakakuratawhitiTawhara block (41 acres 24 poles) from Ripeka Lovo and.others to Martin Elgar. Mr. Beard appeared for tho applicants. The board adjourned tho application for a schedule of other owners and tho Maori lessors. Rimini Vi Tihitiira and others Bought removal of restrictions, and consent to mortgagb Okuruitttu A, No. 2, subdivision lc, comprising 88 acres 1 rood, to the lending Department of the. Government. The applicants desired to borrow £400. It was decided to recommend the Governor to grant I the request. Mr. Beard, on behalf of Mr. A. H. Cameron, applied for approval of a lease to the applicant of the Matapihi. black, of 916 acros 1 rood 2 perehc-s. The lessors aro Matina Ruta and others. Approval was conferred. An application was made for removal of restrictions and permission to sell for £613 Gs. Hinana No. 2B (70 acres 2 roods 26 pclcs) to James K. Strang. Mr. Beard nitido the application, which the board decided to recommend subject to the president's being satisfied with the valuation. Similar application was made by Mr. T.ite, on behalf of Mr. James M'Lcod, in respect to section 73, Awliea (500 acres).' The proposed purchase price was £2500. The samo decision was arrived at. In tho case of Motuwaircka, No. 1 (301 acres 3 roods 39 poles) j application was made by Mr. Liickic, on behalf ol Jane Moore, for removal of restrictions and consent to sell. The vendors oro 33 Natives, and the proposed prico £4 an acre. It was decided to recommend the granting of the application. The board adjourned till April 10 a t Hastings. Afterwards it will., sit at Maisterton.
