"A SHAMEFUL ADVERTISEMENT."

"LIBELLOUS TACTICS." Under tho above heading the Liquor Party have endeavoured, through tho columns of The Dominion, to discount tho effect of an advertising sheet published by the No-Licenso Party. AVe are grateful to them -for tho, cheap publicity _ they have given the sheet in question, copies of which are available at 4s. 6d. per 100, post added. The matter contained m tho sheet cannot possibly he construed into a libel; if tho Liquor Party think otherwise we challenge thon to issue a writ. It is a reproduction of a photo, and contains an appeal to all humane and rightthinking voters to protect the children from tho perils of tho drink evil. Any of your readers who may be in doubt as to tho exact nature of the shoet can obtain a copy on making application to tho Secretary of tho No-Licenso Leaguo, Masterton, and enclosing 2d. in stamps. The Liquor Party know perfectly well that tho sheet in question has had the desired effect, and aimed a deadly blow at tho drink traffic so far as the Masterton electorate is concerned, clso why should they display so much concern about it. , The. statement that .they have any regard for tho tender feelings of others is not borne out by tho rccords of tho trade in which they aro engaged. So far we have had no communication from any parent stating a grievance, but numbers of prominent citizens of Masterton havo freely expressed their pleasure at seeing their own little ones amongst tho group of bright chappy faces in tho picture.
