THE WOOL SEASON.
The wool season has now fairly commenced 'in the Wairarapa, writes our correspondent, arid tlie first loads of wool are, now being dispatched from the Masterton railway station* Shearing will comriience at Messrs. W. and H. Williams's To Parae station tomorrow, and at Brancepeth on the succeeding'day. The first station to "cut out" will be "Bowiands."- So far the reports regarding'the clips have been of , a favourable nature..'-. . ' ■ .. .. • . .The Brancepeth wool clip at the last sales ran up to. lOu. for the better fleeces,-writes our Wairarapa correspondent. .At the present. sales, • "Annedale," _ which is understood to be of the same quality as . Brancepeth, averaged while "Tupurupuru," another well-known and carefully-selected wool, averaged'7d. The' fafit' that: "Tupurupuru" was sold after , that of "Annedale"' is considered to be'a ; very good-example of a declining market. ' It is to be trusted that tho weakening will only, bo temporary, 'but'far'mcrs.will. be wise in making preparations for a further possible fall in the prices.
