TRAMWAY TROUBLE.

Mr. Arthur R-osser, secretary of the Tramway Employees' Union, stated to-day that the men had all gone l back to work quite satisfied tliat they-had come out of the difficulty with honour. . . " ' This morning thore was a little trouble at tho power house. Ono of the firemen informed tho secretary that' there' .was likely to be trouble, a oouplo of blacklog-s being retained. "I at onco went down," t said Mr. Rosser, "and made inquiries. I found, that the men objected to were only being employed as,casual labourers, and that there was no intention.of keoping them. on. With this statement tho men were pacified.". •. •. "It is also interesting to learn," he added, "that tho two men at tho Epsom Barn, who were regarded as blacklegs, have not . been put on their runs again. / This action on tho part of the Company is a creditable one, and shows that they aro anxious to study .tho temper of the men." . ' ' Mr. Rosser adds that he has received th» following telegram from the Minister fo Labour (tho Hon. J. A. Millar): —' "I am exceedingly pleased to hear of tho termination of the dispute. I trust that the setting up of the Board , will result in a thorough understanding between tho Company and its 'employees, : and that in future they liiay work in harmony together. I have to'thank you for your kind expressions of appreciation of tljo services rendered by my Department.—Kind regards. . "J. A. MILLAR."
