Although ontries closed ' for Masterton show nominally, on Saturday night, it has boon impossible to record them at all fully,', and the entire list- will probably not bo closed till after the Feilding show on Tuesday and Wednesday next. Features of the show will j be the Itomney Marsh sheep, fat "cattle, j freezing classes, .ring events,, and the competitions, although the freezing sheep classes : have suffered by drought. In Romneys, Mr. Ernest Short (Feilding) is making 25 entries,' including all -his recent importations. 'His principal"", rivals'.will .bo Messrs. Gray Bros., \V. llnyner (Taratnhi), W. B. and G. E. Allen .(Clareville), W. H. Buick (Masterton), E. J; Wilton (Porirua), Mrs. B. Slack (Oroua), and Mr. A. Harding (Ashluirst). Mr. W. Perry will bo the chief exhibitor in Leicesters, also in Lincolns, with Mr. W. Rayner, while in the fanners' classes tho competitors with largo entries'are Messrs. W. and H. lieethani, L. J. Mooro'(Makuri), F. Moore (Wanganui), Shaw and Son, , and W. Tylco (Pahiatun). In freezers, conclusions will bo tried by Messrs. A. J. Stonewigg, W. Tylce, A. Harding,.and others. Messrs. Slack Bros, have, large entries in Ticicesters. lu fat cattle the principnl competitors are Messrs. J. Deans (tho well-known Riccarton breeder), W. C. Buchanan, W. Mace, tho M'Master Estate," Messrs. G. F. Moore. (Ivni Iwi), W. and II Beetham, and (ho Marainanga Estate. These exhibits will comprise crossbreds in Polled Angus, Herefords, and Short-' horns. Messrs. W. H. and A. E. Boniii (Carterton) and Paul Hunter (Porangahau) will light, out the championships ill Jerseys, and Messrs. J. and E. White rind Slack Bros, in pigs. Messrs; M. Castolberg; B. H. Just., Mrs. W. B. Chennells, and tho scholars of the Kni- , paroro school are the principal entrants so far in horticulture.
