FINAL SITTING

SKNIOII SCHOLARSHIP IN LAW. The University Seriate held .its final sitting yesterday morning; when' the sole business was the passing of new statutes., • . -Regulations foi'. the new senior .scholarship in law were adopted as follow: — (1) The scholarship shall bti awarded only on the results of 'the' 1 examination for honours in law. '. . (2) Jhe scholarship shall ■ not .be awarded to any candidate who has not shown satisfactory, proficioncy. in the papers forming tho subject-matter of the examination. In, any case in which the examiners find ,it impossible to discriminate between, two candidates who are equal for the first pj.ice, the amount of the scholarship shall be'divided: ■ _(3) The scholarship shall-be open to candiwho have not already obtained honours; in law.- ■ (4) A candidate-may present himself tor a senior scholarship in law, although he may not at tho timo boj taking -for honours in law the subjects prescribed for the senior scholarship in law. No candidate shall be allowed to present himself for a senior scholarship in law later than sis years after his -matriculation, nor shall ho be ontitled. to hold the scholarship unless ho has obtained the degree or Bachelor of Law®. •" (5) Tho subjects of examination shall bete) Roman law; (b).''Tho. law of contract and torts (English law)';.(c) The law of real pro--I > ,e r ! ; j s'.
