The Lowburn-Cardrona association cricket fixture, played at Luggate on Saturday, produced an exciting finish and finally ended in a draw, each side scoring 82 runs. The committee of the Cromwell Jockey Club met on Saturday evening to consider a suggestion from two well-known Dunedin owners to raise the stakes for one race at the forthcoming meeting to ,£IOO, and offered something in the nature of a guarantee to the club in the event of this befng agreed to.
