A Progressive Firm

J. and A. P. Scott

The photos wo reproduce in this paper show very dearly the remaiKuble growth of this progressive firm of engineers. From a very hinub'e beginning, Messrs J. and A. P. Sco.t, Limited, have steadily increased their plant, and to-day they hold a civ high reputation among- engineers throughout the Dominion. The inset is the original building, founded in 1913. The building: measured 28ft frontage and was 50ft long, having a floor space of 140 c square feet. The present engineering works of Messrs J. and A. P. Scott, Limited, situated the corner of Albany and Leith which were completed in 1025cover 20,000 square feet of floor space. While the motor industry forms a very largo part of this firm a operations, it is not, as is generally supposed, the foundation upon which it was built. A peep into the splendid machine shop will immediately convince one that Messrs J. and A. P. Scott, Limited, have established a plant that will take care of considerably more than motor car repairs, and . .sttors to the works have expressed tneir astonishment at finding such a cviaiprenensive plant housed under one root. Lngineering in its real sense is cameo, ou by this firm, and there is very iittle that cannot be done with the splendid machines at the disposal of their well-trained staff of specialists. In common with the majority o. engineering concerns in the Dominion, this enterprising firm has entered many avenues in which to expand their business. While attending to the <ugineering requirements of several of our manufacturing firms, they have to their credit some very fine machines in many fields of their activities, in addition to the general engineering, this firm has reached a very high place in specialised operations, including gear-cutting and grinding in all its blanches, while the manufacture of spare parts for the motor trade is widely catered for. Messrs J. and A. P. Scott, Limited, will welcome the opportunity to submit quotations for the manufacture of all classes o. machinery to plans and specifications, and guarantee the highest degree of accuracy. Visitors to the Show will have an opportunity, of seeing a few of the articles manufactured by Mesrs J. and A. P. Scott, and arrangements havo been made to have their representative in attendance to supply any information desired by those interested.
