Ladies Section. —On Thursday last, the -second round for the Scheib button was p'layed. The game resulted in a win tor Mrs Forsyth with JOS-36, let y 6. Mens Section. -On Saturday. Cth inst., there was a good muster for the Juno Medal Match, and also the first qualifying round for the Chanipionsnip event. The following scores were 10cordod:—F. Jolly 89, Jas. C Parcell go, F. Stooi> go, L. McDonald wz, F. Forsyth 102, J. Smith 103, J. Webb 105, L. Mathews.on 110, B. Stumbles 111, R. Smith 11 j, Dr Austin 111, V Do-sett u Q. The Medal Match was won by F. Forsyth with the good nett score of 07, his being an easy win as there was no other nett score within six stro ies of his. The weather conditions tvore agamst good play as tho day was bitterly cold. The work of constructing tbe icw holes is being- pushed ahead and it will nojti be long before the players are hunting- among- the tussocks. RULES OF GOLF. Rule 4.—Practice on day of competition; On the day of the competition, before starting", no competitor sha'l play on, or on to, any of the putting greens, nor shall he intentionally i.'ty at any hole of the stipulated round which is within his reach, under penalty of disqualification.
