GIFT AFTERNOON' AT MT. BARKER.

On TJhursdaj*, April i6th, Mrs Norman Hooper (nee Miss Rebecca Pearcc), who was recently married, vra.x entertained by the ladies of Mt. Barker at afternoon tea, and presented ■with numerous useful gifts for her home. This happy function took place at the residence of Mrs T. D. Anderson. Besides tho guest of honour, there were present Mesdames Ballantyne (2), Ilalliday (2), Faulks (2), G. A. Morris, Anderson, C. Morris. and Misses Smith. Ballantyne, and ilalliday. The afternoon passed off most successfully, competitions being- interspersed with friendly chat, while a delightful afternoon tea was served later.
