Lowburn Notes.

On the evening of November Bth, ;i large number of local boys gather, d together to bid farewell to Mr E Turner, who is leaving Lowbun: to visit bis native land, Tasmania, Mr Christie presided and expressed in complimentary terms the feelings entertained toward " Teddy," and also voiced the general regret at his departure. He presented '"Teddy" with a case of pipes, a tobacco pouch, and a suitably inscribed silver matchbox, also a purse of sovereigns, along with the wish that " Teddy " would have a pleasant voyage, and would live long to enjoy the smokes. Messrs Matbieson, Kit to, Biker and Sharp all referred to '' Teddj 's " p'e ismt and obliging manner, and wished him all "ood things in the future, On rising to reply, '-Teddy" was greeted with applause. He expressed sut prise that the Lowburn folk should see fit to give him the very fine presents they had presented that evening. He would carry away happy memories of Lowburn, and would most likely return after Xmns, when he hoped to again see all the familiar faces. The function broke up with the singing of " For lie's a Jolly Good Fellow."
