DUNEDIN, This Day. I The seventeen-year old son of W. 11. Bnigh, solicitor, was found in a ! bath by his father on Friday night iu I an unconscious condition, and died .some hours later. Dr Bitchelor said death was d'ie to eras poisoning j the funics suddenly coming from a j vent in a patent gas heater. The f coroner said deep sympathy would bo felt for the parents.
A fire seriously damaged Denbigh's Hotel, Fielding. The damage is estimated at three thousand oounds.
The rifle championship meeting will be held at Trentham in March next. The chamber hands at Auckland* Freezing Works have struck in sympathy with the butchers' strike.
