Thomas, W. • lolly, mid A. i\l. Brodrick. Mr Abel \\"as voted to the chair. Minutes of hist annual meeting were continued.

The annual report and balance sheet was read, approved, and adopted. The report showed that the institution had a very prosperous year. the receipts from all sources showing an increase on the previous year.

The balance sheet showed that the year commenced with a credit balance of C 7 1-Ss yd, and closer! with a credit balance of €IT Ins * t )d, and the blinking account at date was in credit to the extent of £o<s 10s -'ld. The principal increases in receipts were £2l 10s in rent of Athemcum, and Ele! lO.s in rent-; of the reserve. Iteceipfs for the year totalled .£l7* ISs :>d, and expenditure £LU) Is od. Referring to expenditure the report states : -" As regards the expenditure si lo of the account, there is one item which, to a great extent, accounts for the increased prosperity of the institution, that is the item of interest on mortgage, which within the last \'c\v years has been reduced from .CM) per annum to .£22 1 Us, a saving of £l7 I Us, and if will lie for the meet-

The retiring committee, with the exception of Mr W. W. Menzies, was re-elected, with the addition of Mr It. .Scott. Committee -Mosrrs "\V. Abel, A. M. Irvine, C. J. Scott, J,. Harris, \V. Jolly, P. Thomas and K. Scott. This concluded the business of the annual meeting.
