At last meeting of the Otago Acclimatisation Society, held in Duuedin on Monday, Mr Deans reported that there were still a few lots of fry to be liberated. The weather had not been favourable for this work lately, and there lias been a delay of a fortnight while the cans were at llawea with the rainbow fry. There were some 3U.0J0 of these fish, and Mr Mackenzie, on his return, reported that when lie reached llawea Lake the fish were in very good condition. The Game Committee reported in connection with complaints of red deer being improperly shot hist season, that it had been resolved to send a letter to Mr John, through the local society, asking him to supply the society with the name of the guide mentioned in his letter of December 16th. The report continued that the recommendation of the llawea Society that two rifles be allotted to Block 22 instead of one, as at present, be| adopted. That Mr John be written to and instructed to hand all deer jaws over to Mr Cotter, secretary of the llawea Society, and that Mr Cotter be asked, with another member of the society, to sec to the destruction of the jaws.
