CLYDE v LOWI3URN. The above tennis met in their first engagement this season, on the Clyde ground last Saturday and were favored with ideal weather. Clyde batted first, and the first wicket full without a score. The best stand of the innings was for the second wicket, which carried the total to 22, but thereafter the wickets fell quickly and Clyde were all out for 50 runs. V. Nicholson 11, and W. Hall 12, contributed double figures. Lowbuni started well and reached their opponents' total for the loss of five wickets. At the fall of the eighth wicket the score stood at 02, but a line partnership between Swann and A. Partridge added SO inns, carrying the total to ] 12, and the innings closed for ] 50. The feature of the innings was the batting of J. Swann, who remained unbeaten with (i-'5 to his credit, while Partridge also give a tine exhibition in compiling H. E.
