Luminous Trees.
There it- a remarkable tret; or sliruli in a small gulch near sonic, springs in Western America. It is about six <>r seven loot in height, with a trunk" which, at its hasc, is three times the si/V-j of a man's wiist. It is remarkably characteristic as (o its foliage, which, at certain seasons of the year, is so luminous that it can he distinguished 01: the darkest night for a distance of'more than a mile, while in its immediate vicinity it emits sullieient light to enable a person to read the finest print. The luminous property is due to paiasit.es.
