The following business of local interest was transacted at the monthly meeting of the above held on Thursday and Friday in Dunedin : —- Mrs Elsie Brown applied for a lease over two acres on the west side of the Kawarau River, between Pipeclay Gully and Bailey’s Gully, Run No. 33d. —Applicant to be informed that an application for an occupation lease would bo favourably considered. Brodnck and Chalmcr, on behalf of G. B. Gordon, applied for a renewable lease over section 2, block IV, Bannockburn district.— Declined as land is to be opened on occupation lease on a date to bo fixed and advertised. The application by Win. F. Robertson for an occupation lease over 95 acres. Nevis district, now section 29, block 111, Nevis district, was granted ; capitai value 2-5s per acre. The boird was requested to fix the capital value of section 29, block V, Cromwell district, granted to Mrs M. F. Wood, tor cash. — Capital value fixed at £1 per acre. Lewis Harris, on behalf of Alexander Nicol, applied for 200 acres between the roadline and the Hindis River.—Held over till settlement block is being subdivided Irwin and Irwin, on behalf of Thomas Waide, applied for a yearly license to occupy the area in block XII, Tarras district, retained for closer settlement.—Declined. D. R. Corson applied for exemption from residence on small grazing run No, 333 d, Kawarau, as he is residing on the freehold adjoining.—Exemption from residence granted. ihe Warden reported on the application by John M'Connell for a renewable lease over sections 14, block VI, Wakefield district, and section 12, block XVIII, Leaning Rock district. - Granted ; capital value 10s per acre. C. Gudgeon, on behalf of John Robert Scurr, applied for a pasturage license over about 14 Ji) acres of the Cardrona Commonage.—Held over for report by Classification Commissioners. C. Gudgeon, on behalf of Patrick Galvin, junr.. applied for a pasturage license over about 1000 acres of the Cardrona Common-age-—Held over for report by Classification Commissioners, The following applications for land were granted : —Lawrence Murphy—sections 59, 69. 61, 62, block XII, Lower Hawea district, renewable lease; William Trevathan—section 23, block XIV, Lower Wanaka district ; Beatrice Lilian Goodall—section 24, block XIV, Lower Wanaka district. Application for exchange from occupation lease to renewable lease, 0,1. 321, E. V. Freed, section 16, block 111, Leaning Rock.—Granted. The board was requested to authorise the Receiver of Laud Revenue to deal with the sum of £39 17s 6d paid as valuation for improvements on s.g. run No. 236 d, Wna M'Aughtrie, lessee.—Receiver authorised to pay over. The board was requested to fix tfic capital value for section 35, block r, Bannockburn district, granted to P. M. Parcel! under occupation lease.—Rent fixed at Is lid per acre. Brodrick and Cbalmcr, on behalf Win. Wilson, applied for a. renewable lease over section 4, block TV, Bannockburn district.—Application declined as land to be opened on occupation lease on dale to bo fixed and advertised. John M’Ewan renewed bis application for a license to occupy portion of the town of .Newcastle and area ad joining in Lower Hawea and Lower Wanaka districts. —Yearly license granted over area lying between main road and Clutba and Hawea Rivers. Rent £ I per annum. Condition of license to be (bat sheepproof fence be erected along southern boundary.
