Meeting of Householders at Hawea Flat.

Last Monday evening the annual meeting of householders for the election of a school committee was held at the schoolhouse, Hawea Flat. Only half-a-dozen householders put in an appearance—a fact which does not augur well for the interest taken in school matters. Mr M. Allison was voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £7 9s 6d on the 31st of March, were read and adopted, on the motion of Mr 8, Hansen, seconded by Mr Kingau.
