GEORGE JENOUR, Secretary, At last week's sitting of the Waste Lands Board, the following business connected with Vincent County was transacted :—Tho following app'ication for gold-mining lease was approved : Edward Tupker and others, section 2, block 11, Bannockburn ; notice of the Board's intention to grant the following mineral leases was ordered to be advertised :—John Short, section 9, block I, Bannockburn; Edward M'Nulty and William Muter, section 21, block 1, Cromwell. The District Land Officer, Clyde, forwarded an applica ion by the Colonial Bank of New Zealand to purchase section 1, block I, Ophir, This section had been set apart as & reserve for public library purposes, and the Library Committee wrote that they agreed to the Bank having the section, as the Athensum was intended to be built on section 2. The section having been Crown-granted to the Superintendent in trust for the Library Committee, the Board had no power to deal with it, and the application had consequently to hi refused. '
