FEOm'OUB own CORRESPONDENT. Oil Wednesday evening, 2>'2nd inst., the annual school break-up and distribution of prizes was held in the RomaJiapa Wall. The building was packed to the doors, and the audience was most 'appreciative of the children's efforts. All excellent programme had 'been arranged, ami the children performed •their various parts in a very creditable wanner. "Old King Cole" and dance, 'by juniors; "Father William," "Barefoot Trail," '"Leetie Mr Baggy Breeches,", toy boys and girls. Several recitations •were given ibv the little folk, and these items were much enjoyed. A jazz iband' gave an excellent item. 'Much troyble had been taken in the make-up of the costumes, and the effect produced was a very striking one and reflected great credit on those who worked so hard to ensure success. Mr Peterson '(chairman.), before distributing the prizes, spoke a word in praise of the tear hers (iMr Burn and 'Miss Ayson), and complimented them upon the success of the evening's entertainment. Miss Evelyn Jackmau acted as accompaniste to the children, and close of the concert was presented 'by Miss Nessie Johnston, on behalf of the school, with a beautiful 'basket of roses. A dainty supper was provided 'by the ladies, and afterwards the hall was cleared and dancing was indulged in until 2.30. Excellent music was supplied Ibv 'Miss Judge and Mr J. Sarginson.
