CORRESPONDENCE.
' * ■«'■" WOOL PBIOBS. "TO THE EDITOR, Sir, —In your report re the 'Farmers' Uiiion confereuce re wool you report me as having stated that wool prices wore not very much below' former years. This is very misleading. I explained that fine wool prices were much the same as in 19114J15, tout crossibred wools much lower, but not nearly so 'bad as some speakers.at the meeting had stated—via., 4sd per lb; and it seemed to be "of no use to make the position worse than it was; as if crossbred were sold they would mafee from 6d to 7d pe* l'b, basing tliese values on actual sales in 'Christchureh. I enclose prices of (1) appraisement values, (2) 1914-15 priced and ('3) prices made at last Christchureh sale from one of the leading woolbrokers there, which may be of general interest and will also make the positioii clear, as I tried to explain it.
