KAITANGATA NEWS.

The South Otago Kifle Association meeting to be held on the Centrewood Range, Kaitaiigata, on Decemlber 27, 28 and 29 shows evidence of being most successful for a first meeting, there boing- nearly 70 entries. There -will be three or four teams representing the Kaitangata Defence Bide Club, but the following have been entered 'by the club:—(Riflemen W. D. 'Carson, M. Brown (Wangaloa), W. D. Patcrson, Jas. Smith and Jas. Kyle. Good weather is all that is required to make the outing an enjoyable one. The secretary (Mr "H. Cuthbertson) and his committee have all arrangements well in. hand.

For the athletic club's gathering there has been a good entry for the big event, 15 having entered for the 135 yds Sheffield. According to all accounts each event on the programme is going to be keenly contested by a large number of competitors.

Forty-two attendance certificates were given. The dux of the school (Frank Cooke) liafl gone through all the classes unbeaten. The gift 'books for the infant department and the prizes for Standards I and II were prosented by the ex-girls.
